What are Coffee Certifications?
So that you know what coffee certifications are for and some types of them.
Sometimes you might have already read on some coffee labels that they are certified. But, certified on what?
Well, certifications are the confirmation of certain characteristics, such as economic, environmental, cultural or social sustainability aspects involved in coffee production.
Coffee certifications have specific guidelines and are usually verified by an independent third party certification organization. Usually they give consumers the choice to buy a product which is environmentally friendly, fair and sustainable but most of all a product which goes along with their interests and beliefs about responsible consumption.
Some time ago Columbian Coffee Hub picked some of these coffee certifications and did an awesome infographics that resumes what certifications are for and some types of them, such as Fairtrade; 4C Association; UTZ Certified; Organic and Rainforest Alliance.
